Hello ~

DO YOU KNOW WHAT IT COSTS
YOU TO PRINT?

ECOSYS Technology and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO)
Efficiency and productivity in office technology is based around TCO. This recognizes that the purchase price of the printer is only the first of a series of costs. With cartridge-based page printers, costs can easily exceed more than three times the original purchase price during the life of the product.

Conventional Laser Printers
Conventional printers use an imaging cartridge that integrates a photoreceptor drum, developer and toner into a single, disposable unit. When the toner is depleted, the entire cartridge is disposed of and replaced with a new unit.

The Cartridge-Free ECOSYS Technology System
In contrast, ECOSYS printers feature a durable imaging system based on Kyocera's patented amorphous silicon print drum. Tiny ceramic particles embedded in Kyocera Mita's toner continually polish and recondition the drum during normal printing. This virtually eliminates the need for replacement of the drum and other cartridge components, which is typically performed many times over the life of a conventional printer.

The Result
Kyocera Mita's ECOSYS printers and copiers create less waste than any competing products and have the lowest comparable cost per print

ECOSYS Environmental and Cost Benefits
The benefits of Kyocera Mita's cartridge-free ECOSYS technology are twofold. Ecologically, ECOSYS can help to eliminate the environmental burden of used print cartridges worldwide that are now disposed of each year. Economically, by eliminating the recurring costs associated with replacement print cartridges, ECOSYS printers provide the industry's lowest TCO. This incremental savings can recoup the printer's purchase price in a year or less, particularly in network printing environments.

Did You Know...

Accram is a provider of
E-mail services. Our mail server utilized 3 different anti-virus scanners that scan all inbound and outbound emails, and attachments.

This feature has brought to light some interesting tidbits as we see in increase in the current email virus epidemic.

Jan 1- 25, Accram's email server cleaned an average of 34 virus a day.

Jan 26-31, the server cleaned an average of 344 virus a day.

February 1- 29, the server was cleaning an average of 369 virus a day.

March 1-2 , so far we are averaging 768 virus caught per day.

IMPORTANT VIRUS INFORMATION

In light of the recent email virus activity, it is important to keep our valued clients informed and aware of the situation.

What it Does:
The recent rash of viruses that we are seeing are sent as email attachments from 'spoofed' addresses. This technique is used by virus writers to trick YOU into opening the virus because it looks like it came from someone you expect to receive mail from. Spoofing also makes it nearly impossible to track down the actual source of the virus, by changing the email address in the "From:" field.

How It Works:
For example, if Bill is infected with the virus, and he also has Jack and Jane in his email contacts list - the virus on Bill's computer will send itself to Jack and make it look like the virus came from Jane. The end result is Jack thinks he got the virus from Jane.

Corporate email systems with antivirus software have been designed to try to stem the flow of viruses like this by sending an "Auto-Reply" or automated email message to the "sender" of known viruses. In our example case, Jane would receive an email from Jack's company telling her that she sent the virus - when she isn't infected at all. With the current rash of email viruses these auto-reply messages are largely erroneous.

What you can and SHOULD do:

  • DO NOT open email attachments. Whether the email comes from an address you recognize or not, do not open any attachments without first verifying with the source party that they sent you an email and that it contains an attachment.
  • Make sure that your Virus definitions are up to date. This will help catch known viruses, but as we saw on Friday, new viruses are released hourly and current DAT files may not catch all viruses - so do not open attachments
  • Only open attachments if the attachment is specifically referenced in the body of the email by name AND you were expecting the attachment or you can verify the authenticity with the sender
  • If you think you may have opened an email virus attachment immediately UNPLUG YOUR NETWORK CABLE. Pulling the little blue (sometimes other colors) cable out of your computer or the wall will stop your computer from spreading the virus or doing damage to the network and isolate the problem until you can scan and clean your computer.
